The Lola Tunbridge Watercolour Prize Exhibition Finalists, US 2022

Living and studying at home has become the most daily state of life in the long-isolated and virus-ridden life situation. Using the medium of water and watercolor paints, we depict the most everyday 'me', but not just me, the state of mind and feelings.

These paints and color blocks are like relaxed jazz, casual modern dance, and lyrical murmurs—the most natural and straightforward way to tell the story of daily life and our world. The philosophical idea of existentialism extends to an overlap of colors. All are moments that cannot be changed or repeated in the present moment. This is a series of drawings from watching TV, looking in the mirror, sleeping, studying, eating, and being in a state of pain, A very detailed interpretation of daily life at home. Each color is chosen to represent the mood of that day and the color I think is most suitable for expression, and each watercolor overlay is a natural trace and the most desired state. I have adopted a composition of blurred details, focusing mainly on the movements and emotions of a fixed space (home), using large blocks of color to peer into the passivity and distance of mind and physical body. That is me at my best, but also at my most helpless, most modern, and lived-in.

Me, Not just me, but also us.
